Used batteries from electric vehicles can disrupt the energy sector and create value for energy storage
The battery does not expire after it has already exhausted its initial use in an electric vehicle. Batteries have great potential for reuse in stationary energy storage systems. In addition,…

Research: electric cars can save billions on healthcare

According to the Australian study “Clean and safe roads for New South Wales” and its report, health care costs could be reduced by billions of dollars if drivers in the Sydney region massively switch to electric vehicles.

According to the report, the cost of treatment of diseases associated with the impact of transport is up to $3 billion annually in the Sydney-Newcastle-Wollongong district alone, where deaths from pulmonary and respiratory diseases are 60% higher than deaths from road accidents, indicating that the emissions of ice-cars are more dangerous than the cars themselves.

According to the report, in New South Wales there are many good reasons to switch to electric cars, but it is the health and safety of people most underestimated of them.
The researchers emphasize that their data is not an abstraction, but absolutely real indicators. Emissions from the internal combustion engine-car, causing disease and death include carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxide (NOX), and pollution of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Mass introduction of electric vehicles can completely rid the population of co and NOX EMISSIONS, and the amount of volatile organic compounds and PM10 particles can be halved, plus the emission of the most harmful PM 2.5 particles can be reduced by almost two-thirds.

The study indicates that if all cars were electric on state roads, the lack of emissions prevented 273 deaths per year and significantly reduced medical costs.

Children, especially those who live or study within 75 meters of highways have a 29% increased risk of developing asthma. Given that the vast majority of schools in the region due to the increase in access to them, located just within this range, at risk are all children from 5 to 17 years.

The peculiarity of this study is that it is applicable to all regions of the world, including Ukraine, where the death rate from air pollution is one of the highest in Europe. The bottom line is that every civilized country in the world has similar problems — a huge number of cars in densely populated regions. Schools in Ukraine as well as schools in Australia are located, if not on the main roads of cities with constant traffic, then certainly not more than 75 meters from them.

Plus, the study records not only the obvious health problems and associated medical costs, the report also notes how much noise pollution of cities by vehicles with ice.
